Nationwide protest of Generation Z

Saturday, 31 October 2026
from 2 pm in 21 cities

Our future is in our hands.

We are young people who no longer want to watch decisions being made about our future without us being heard. On 31 October we take to the streets in 21 cities at the same time: for education, health, climate action and an affordable life, against conscription and against austerity on our backs. What we demand is set out in our position paper.

From our position paper

What moves us. What we demand.

Wherever we look, we see crises and hardly any prospects for us. These are the six topics on 31 October.

  • Education and health

    Broken schools and austerity

Cuts are being made to education, social services, culture and health. Addiction clinics for teenagers and young people are closing, and therapy is out of reach for many.

    Our demand

Money for schools, addiction support and therapy instead of cuts.

  • Everyday life

    Rising cost of living

Rising prices, high taxes and poverty weigh on many people every day. Their worries get too little attention.

    Our demand

An affordable life. People's worries belong at the top of the agenda.

  • Fairness

    Unfair distribution of burdens

The cuts are made on our backs, while big corporations keep profiting and billions flow into rearmament.

    Our demand

Share the burden fairly instead of cutting back on the young generation.

  • Conscription

    Conscription and military screening

We are supposed to be trained for wars we never had a say in.

    Our demand

No to conscription. Nobody decides about our future without us.

  • Fundamental rights

    More surveillance

    The surveillance apparatus keeps growing.

    Our demand

Protect fundamental rights instead of expanding surveillance further and further.

  • Climate

    Climate change

The climate crisis hits our generation hardest. Yet real climate action keeps being postponed.

    Our demand

Real climate action now, so that we have a future.

What we want

We demand policies that invest in education, social security, health, climate action and an affordable life instead of cutting back on the young generation. We want a say when decisions are made about our future.

What we stand for

For the people. Not for a party.

Our shared problems matter more than what divides us.

On this day we put political differences aside and stand up together for the people, not for a party. Our shared problems matter more than what divides us.

We criticise political decisions no matter which party is behind them. Many forces present themselves as the only solution, although their policies put our future at risk. No party stands above the worries of the people.

We stand for all people, regardless of origin, skin colour, religion, sexuality or political opinion. We want to bring people together instead of letting ourselves be turned against each other.

We teenagers and young people are neglected and ignored. We want to change that.

We are not alone

In France, Belgium and Spain young people are already taking to the streets. The spark has reached Germany: the first solidarity actions with the student protests in France have already taken place. Now it is our turn.

31 October is only the beginning.

Lasting problems need more than one day of protest. We want to change things in the long run and keep going afterwards.

Our declaration

Peaceful, non-partisan, for everyone.

This is how our protest works. Everyone who joins supports these principles.

Declaration as PDF download (1 page, German)

Our protest is peaceful, without exception. Violence against people or property contradicts everything we stand for. Only peacefully can we achieve something together.

Peaceful does not mean accepting everything. We will not be intimidated, threatened or attacked and we do not look away when it happens to others. If there are threats or assaults, we rely on distance, de-escalation and solidarity and bring those affected to safety.

Everyone is welcome. We fight for us as people, for our youth and for our future, not for a party.

No matter your skin colour, origin, gender, sexuality or religion: everyone belongs with us. We support each other and will not be divided.

Open to everyone does not mean open to everything. Extremist groups, unconstitutional symbols, racism and hate have no place with us, no matter where they come from. Anyone who wants to misuse our protest for this will be excluded from the assembly.

No matter who you love or how you identify: all sexual orientations and gender identities are welcome with us. Queerphobia has no place at our protest.

What's okay

  • Demonstrating peacefully and respectfully
  • Being loud with signs, chants and music
  • People of all views and backgrounds
  • Looking out for and helping each other
  • Protecting ourselves and others without violence

What's not okay

  • Violence, threats or destruction
  • Hate, incitement and discrimination
  • Extremist groups and unconstitutional symbols
  • Glass and weapons
  • Provoking the police

Well prepared for the demo

At the end of October it gets dark and cold early. Dress warmly and pack water and something to eat.

  • Stay peaceful

No violence, no provocation. Don't let yourself be provoked and listen to the stewards.

  • Never alone

Go with friends and agree on a meeting point in case you lose each other.

  • Show your face

Face coverings are banned at assemblies. A warm hat is of course fine.

  • Battery full

Charge your phone, pack a power bank. In crowds the network is often slow.

  • Bring your ID

Take your ID with you. Under 18? Tell your parents where you are.

  • In an emergency

Police 110, ambulance 112. If there are problems, go to the stewards or the first aiders on site.

Peaceful. Together.
For our future.

Only which city your device has chosen, under a random ID. To prevent misuse, we briefly count how often votes come from one network, without storing the IP address. So that popular cities appear higher up, we also count how often a city is opened, without identifying you. Everything is deleted two weeks after the protest.
